Narrator: They are now at the hospital.

Billie: Barbara, open the doors, so we can get these two in the operating rooms. Put Tammy in     0. R. l. Put Merchell in 0. R. 2. Matt, you will have to go to the waiting room to
your left, there.

Matthew: Ok, just let me know how it is going every once in awhile.

Barbara: Ok, her mom will be called up here in a few minutes. She is probably in the lobby
               downstairs.

Matthew: I'll wait for her.

Mom: Hey, Matthew, how are you holding up? How are the girls doing?

Matthew: I'm not holding up too well. They are in surgery now. Barbara is supposed to keep
me posted on how it is going.

Mom: Well, I know they're gonna make it.

Narrator: Matt and Tammy'smom sat patiently for hrs. and hrs. awaiting news on how things
were going. Finally, Angela, came into the room.

Matthew: How is she?Is she going live?

Mom:Now calm down, Matt. Just be cool and let her talk.

Angela:She is doing fine. It was a success. She is being put into the recoveryroom with
Merchell.

Matthew: When can Isee them?

Angela:They are supposed to be put in a regular room tomorrow.

Mom:Thanks, Angela. Ok, son, lets go home. Matt, you can sleep over, if youlike. We all
need to get some rest. It's late.

Matthew: Ok, we'll beback first thing in the morning to find out what room they are in.

Angela:That will be fine. We'l1 have them in a room by 8 a. m. That would be thebest thing
for you, to stay with her mom tonight. Just to make sure you areok. Mrs. Lawson,
don't let him near her room tonight. He doesn't need to upset himself anymore
tonight.

Mom:No problem there. I'll let him sleep in her brother's room.

Angela:That would be great.

Narrator: Matt and Tammy'smom go home to get him ready for the night. Cheryl, Karen and
Merchell's parents wait at the hospital until morning.

Cheryl:I wonder how Merchell's arm looks now.

Karen:I still don't know how she twisted it around the axle in the first place.

Cheryl:According to her, the car moved forward when she fell against it and herarm caught
the axle.

Karen:That's terrible, I know it had to hurt.

Cheryl:She says, she didn't feel anything afterwards. Her whole body went numbbefore the
ambulance arrived. So, she wasn't in any pain. She was more worried aboutTammy
dying than she was worried about herself.

Karen:I hope they'l1 get better before the concert comes around next month.

Cheryl:I hope so too. I got tickets for everybody.

Karen:That's great. I can't wait to see Hank play at the Coliseum.

Cheryl:I can't wait either. Lets go see the nurse for a moment. We'Il be backin a while Mr.
& Mrs. Williams.

Karen:Barbara, can we please go in and see how they are? If Tammy's asleep, we'lltalk to
Merchell.

Barbara: Ok, but, Ihave to go in with you. I need to check on Tammy anyway. Lets goin
quietly.

Cheryl:Great! They are awake. Hey, Merchell. Hey, Tammy. How are you two feeling?

Tammy: Whereis Matthew? Why can't he come see us?

Barbara:Now, now, Tammy, just calm down. You don't need to get upset. These twoaren't
supposed to be in here. But, I let them in because, I was coming in tosee you.

Tammy: Ok,I'm calm. I just want to know why Matthew isn't here with me.

Barbara:Tammy, Angela, sent him home with your mother, because, they were so upset,I
didn't want them to upset you. They looked so frightened that youwere going to
die. Now, when you are in a regular room, he will be able tosee you. I don't want
you to move around too much when he comes to see you. If you don'tlisten, then I
won't let anybody come to see you but, your mom.

Tammy:When will we be put in a regular room?

Barbara:You will be put in a room, in a while.

Merchell:Tammy, that's great! I'm glad we will be in the same room.

Cheryl:Gee, that's great, they are being put in the same room. That means we don'thave to
go from room to room to talk.
